Murcia is situated in south eastern Spain and it is the capital of the Murcia area. It is located in Costa Calida region. It is the sevenlargest town in Spain with around 450 000 residents. It is not a mass tourism vacation spot, but tourism is increasing during the last decades. It is a studentcity, indeed Murcia University positioned in the old city seduces a lot of students by this good infrastructures.

 Besides, the town is a really pleasant location to live with its wonderful weather, there are more than 3000 hours of sunshine a years. The average temperature is roughlyt 20 degrees, and because it is an inland town the wind is not too present. In the old city , there are a lot of restaurants and tapas bars which are really wonderful. You can eat outside in a terrace protected from the sun by the trees and the river is flowing down, very peaceful.

It is a pleasure to walk across the old road along the river Segura, it is really lovely and the atmosphere is very Spanish. Murcia is a culture destination with a lot of museums and architectural highlights. The irrigation system built by the Moors and improved by the Romans is still used today. The cathedral located at the plaza del Cardinal Belluga is well worth a view, it is a master-piece of the baroque period . There is a museum inside which provide a lot of info. The Episcopal Palace is located in the front of the cathedral and was constructed in the 18 century and with its Rococo facade style it deserve to be view .

Murcia area is an agricultural spot. It produces especially vegetables and fruits like lemon, abricot,…they are going all across Spain and Europe. With these tasty items the food in Murcia is one of the pleasant reasons to visit it. Murcia is also well-known for its Tapas.
